How many tubes of caulk do I need?
For tubs, showers, sinks, trim, windows and siding. Enter the joint length and bead size.

How this is calculated
We multiply the bead width by its depth to get the volume per foot (or metre), then divide the tube’s volume by that. A standard 10.1 oz tube lays about 24 ft of a 1/4 inch bead.
Bigger gaps use caulk much faster: doubling both width and depth uses four times as much. Fill gaps deeper than 1/2 inch (12 mm) with backer rod first.
Silicone or acrylic?
Use 100% silicone around tubs, showers and sinks where it stays wet. Use paintable acrylic latex on trim and walls.
How do I get a neat line?
Run painter’s tape on both sides of the joint, apply the bead, smooth it with a wet finger or tool, and pull the tape while it’s still wet.
