Privacy policy

Last updated: September 29, 2026

This policy explains what information is collected when you visit diyneeds.com (“DIY Needs”, “we”, “us”) and how it’s used.

Information you enter into calculators

All calculations happen in your browser. The measurements you enter are not sent to us or stored on our servers.

Information stored on your device

We save your preferred measurement units (imperial or metric) in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers your choice. You can clear this at any time in your browser settings.

Hosting and technical data

Our site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like most websites, Cloudflare may process technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, in order to deliver the site securely and protect against abuse. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when fonts are downloaded.

Affiliate links

Some links on our site are affiliate links, including links to Amazon. When you click one, the retailer may place cookies in your browser to record that you came from our site, so we can earn a commission on qualifying purchases. That information is handled under the retailer’s own privacy policy.

Advertising

We may show advertising in the future. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info.

Analytics

We may use Google Search Console and similar tools to understand how people find our site. These show aggregated search data and don’t identify individual visitors.

Children

Our site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete personal information about you. Because we don’t collect personal information directly, most requests will relate to the third parties above. If you have questions, contact us and we’ll help.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time and will change the date above when we do. Questions? Email contact@diyneeds.com.
