How many pavers do I need?
For patios, paths and fire pit areas. Includes the base gravel and sand underneath.

How this is calculated
We divide the patio area by the size of one paver, then add extra for cuts at the edges and curves.
Underneath, pavers need a compacted gravel base, usually 4 inches (10 cm) for patios and 6 to 8 inches for driveways, plus a 1 inch (2.5 cm) layer of sand to set them in.
What about polymeric sand?
That goes in the joints after the pavers are laid. One 50 lb bag usually covers about 50 to 75 sq ft, depending on joint width.
Do I need edge restraints?
Yes. Without them, pavers slowly spread apart at the edges.
