How many drywall sheets do I need?
For a full room or a single wall. Includes screws so you buy everything in one trip.

How this is calculated
We add up the wall area (and the ceiling if selected) and add 10% for cuts around doors, windows and outlets. We don’t subtract openings, because the offcuts are rarely usable.
Plan for about 32 screws per sheet, one bucket of joint compound per 8 sheets and a roll of tape for every 6 to 7 sheets.
Which sheet size is better?
Longer sheets mean fewer seams to tape and sand, but they’re heavy. Use 4 × 8 if you’re working alone.
What thickness should I use?
1/2 inch (12.5 mm) for walls, 5/8 inch (15 mm) for ceilings and fire-rated areas.
